1. The Matrix (1999)

In this movie, a man (Thomas A. Anderson) is living two lives. One as a regular computer programmer during the day and the other as a hacker by the name of Neo during the night.
At some point, another legendary computer hacker who is labeled as a terrorist by the government contacted Neo. This is the reason Neo became a target of the police.
As he is targeted by the police, Neo had to face off against the agents and super powerful computer programs whose primary aim is to stop Neo and entire human rebellion.
2. Her (2013)
Her is a romantic and science fiction film about a relationship between a man and an AI operating system. The film stars Joaquin Phoenix acted role of Theodore, who is a letter writer as a profession. Theodore is a lonely man who is going through a difficult time because his marriage is coming to an end, he is in the final stages of his divorce.
When Theodore is not working as a letter writer, he spends his free time playing video games and hanging out with his friends. One day he saw an advertisement of an operating system named OS1. It claims to be the world’s first artificially intelligent operating system. Theodore decided to buy this OS1, which is supposed to be smart and even has feelings.
Theodore quickly gets attracted to Samantha, the voice behind his OS1. They start spending more time together and at some point, Theodore falls in love with Samantha.
He feels happy but he is also confused since he is not sure whether it is OK to love an operating system. Samantha helps Theodore in many things using her intelligence, but she can’t help him with his feelings of loving an operating system.
3. Moneyball
“Moneyball” is a movie based on a true story about a baseball team called the Oakland Athletics. The team’s general manager, Billy Beane, is trying to build a winning team with a limited budget.
To do this, he uses a new approach to scouting and analyzing players, which is based on statistical analysis and data-driven decision-making. This approach is called “Moneyball.”
Instead of relying on traditional scouting methods and the opinions of scouts, Beane uses statistical analysis to identify undervalued players who can help the team win.
Through the movie, we see Beane and his team face challenges and resistance from traditionalists within the baseball community, but ultimately, they succeed in building a winning team using the “Moneyball” approach.
4. Ex Machina (2014)
Caleb is a 26-year-old computer programmer who works at the world’s largest internet company. The CEO of that company is Nathan.
One day Caleb wins a competition and is rewarded to spend a week with the CEO (Nathan) at his private research center located on a private mountain.
When Caleb reaches Nathan’s mountain research center, he understands that he’s there to participate in a strange and interesting experiment. He has to talk to an advanced and world’s first artificial intelligence-based robot girl. This robot girl looks like a human, and Caleb has to interact with her in various ways.
5. Blade Runner (1982)
“Blade Runner” is a science fiction movie released in 1982. The story takes place in an imaginary future world where humans have created AI-based robots called replicants. The replicants are made to ease manual labor and do dangerous tasks. At some point, replicants were banned from Earth due to the fear that they would become too advanced and can be a threat to humanity.
Harrison Ford plays the role of a retired detective, Rick Deckard, who is assigned to hunt down four rogue and powerful robots or replicants who have come to Earth illegally. While investigating Deckard finds that replicants are very intelligent and almost impossible to distinguish from real humans.
As Deckard started his task, he falls in love with a replicant named Rachel. Meanwhile Roy Batty, the leader of replicants started to fight back against their human creators and search for a way to extend their limited lifespans.
The movie shows the themes of artificial intelligence and the nature of humanity.
6. The Social Dilemma (2020)
“The Social Dilemma” is a documentary movie released in 2020. This film explores and tells us the negative impact of social media on individuals and society. The movie is presented in simple language that is easily understood by all kinds of people.
The movie explains how social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram are designed to keep users engaged for as long as possible. The longer users stay on these platforms, the more data they generate, which is then used to create targeted advertisements.

7. Chappie (2015)
“Chappie” is a science fiction movie. The story is all about a robot named Chappie, who is designed to be the first AI (Artificial Intelligence) robot has the ability to think and learn like a human (reinforcement learning). Chappie’s creator, Deon, is determined to save him and teach him about the world and human emotions.
At some point, Chappie is stolen by a group of gangsters who plan to use him for their criminal activities.
As Chappie learns and grows, he starts to feel torn between the bad people who raised him and his own wish to be good.
Meanwhile, a rival engineer, Vincent, is trying to develop his own AI robot and finds Chappie as a threat. This movie has fight, emotion, drama, and artificial intelligence everything you are looking for.
8. Minority Report (2002)
“Minority Report” is a science fiction movie released in 2002. It shows that in a future where crime can be predicted and prevented before it happens.
The movie shows a different world. Where a special police unit called “PreCrime” uses a group of psychic individuals (who can see the future) called “Precogs” to see visions of future crimes. This vision is then processed and visualized in a computer. The police then arrest the would-be criminals before they have a chance to commit the crime.
The chief of that special police force (PreCrime) was John Anderton (played by Tom Cruise). At some point, John Anderton saw that he is also accused of a future murder by the Precogs. When he saw that incident, he tries to clear his name from the system which uncovers a conspiracy that threatens the entire PreCrime system and the safety of the city.
9. Transcendence (2014)
“Transcendence” is a science fiction movie released in 2014. The movie is about a brilliant scientist named Dr. Will Caster, played by Johnny Depp, who is working on creating an artificial intelligence system that can beat out human intelligence.
But one day, some people who don’t like technology attack him. They shoot him, and he only has a few weeks to live. His wife Evelyn (played by Rebecca Hall) and friend Max (played by Paul Bettany) want to save him. They do something desperate – they put his mind into a computer. This turns him into a very smart and powerful being.
As Will becomes more powerful, he starts to control technology all over the world. He even gains control of nuclear weapons. Will thinks he can make the world a better place by getting rid of things like disease and pollution, and even death.
But some people are scared and don’t want him to do this. They think it will cause chaos. This leads to a fight between those who support Will’s plan and those who want to stop him.
10. The Terminator (1984)
“The Terminator” is a Hollywood movie released in 1984. It’s about a robot called the Terminator, who is sent from the future to the past to kill a woman named Sarah Connor. The reason for this is that in the future, Sarah’s son will lead a rebellion against the machines. Terminator is sent to prevent him from being born.
Another man named Kyle Reese is also sent back in time to protect Sarah. He tells her about the danger of Terminator so they have to run away from it. The Terminator is always chasing them, trying to kill Sarah. As they spend more time together, Kyle and Sarah start to care about each other and fall in love.

11. A.I. Artificial Intelligence (2001)
“A.I. Artificial Intelligence” is a movie directed by Steven Spielberg, released in 2001. The movie shows a future world is flooded due to global warming. To help humans, robots that look like humans called “mechas” are created. They are meant to assist people in their everyday lives.
The movie is mainly about a robot named David, who is designed to look and acts like a human child. He is given to a family whose real son is in a coma. David’s “mother,” Monica, starts to love him like her own child. But when her son recovers and comes back home, Monica leaves David alone in the woods. David is now alone in a lonely forest and has to take care of himself.
Here in the jungle, David meets a mecha named Gigolo Joe and they become friends. They both go on a trip to find the “Blue Fairy,” who is from a storybook. David started believing that the Blue Fairy can turn him into a real human. During their journey, they face many obstacles and problems. One of them is being captured by humans who use mechas/ robots for entertainment.
12. Upgrade (2018)
“Upgrade” is a science-fiction action film released in 2018. The story takes place in the near future when technology has advanced to the point where people can integrate themselves with computers and machines.
The story follows the life of Grey, a mechanic who lives in a world where technology is king. One day, Grey and his wife are attacked while driving. Grey is left paralyzed, and his wife is killed.
A wealthy inventor named Eron Keen approaches Grey and offers to help him. Eron implants a computer chip called STEM into Grey’s body, which gives him new abilities and helps him move again.
As Grey begins to explore his new capabilities, he realizes that the implant, STEM, can control his body without his permission. Using STEM, Grey tries to revenge against those who are responsible for his wife’s death. This begins to unravel a sinister conspiracy involving Keen and his company.
This movie has an excellent combination of sci-fi, artificial intelligence, and action. If you are interested in sci-fi and artificial intelligence movies then this movie is definitely for you.
